Ultimate No-Bake Chocolate Tart

Ingredients
  

For the crust

  • 350 g digestive biscuits or graham crackers, crushed into fine crumbs
  • 180 g unsalted butter, melted
  • A little g extra butter, for greasing the tart tin

For the filling

  • 340 g dark chocolate chips, or dark chocolate with at least 50% cocoa, chopped small
  • 250 ml double cream For a rich filling

Instructions
 

Preparation of Crust

  • Lightly butter a 23 cm loose-bottom tart pan.
  • Blend the biscuits into fine crumbs in a food processor, or crush them in a sealed bag with a rolling pin.
  • Transfer the crumbs to a bowl, add the melted butter, and stir until the mixture is evenly coated.
  • Firmly press the crumb mixture into the base and sides of the prepared pan using your fingers or the bottom of a glass.
  • Place the crust in the fridge to chill.

Preparation of Filling

  • Put the chocolate into a heatproof bowl.
  • Heat the cream in a microwave-safe jug until very hot but not boiling, about 1 minute 20 seconds.
  • Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for 2 minutes.
  • Stir gently until the mixture turns smooth, glossy, and fully melted.

Assembly and Chilling

  • Remove the chilled crust from the fridge and pour in the chocolate filling.
  • Refrigerate for about 3 hours, or until fully set. Leaving it overnight gives the best result.
  • Once firm, remove the tart from the pan and slice into 12 portions.

Notes

Serve garnished with fresh berries, whipped cream, or a drizzle of caramel for added flavor.
