  • 1 piece kaiser roll (or any sturdy roll), split Any sturdy roll can be used.
  • 3–4 slices turkey bacon Use high-quality turkey bacon for better flavor.
  • 1 large egg Can be cooked sunny-side-up or over-easy.
  • 1 slice American cheese (or cheddar/Swiss) Use your favorite cheese.

  • 1 tsp butter or oil (for the egg) Use butter or oil to prevent sticking.
  • Salt To taste.
  • Black pepper To taste.
  • Hot sauce or sriracha (optional) For added spice.
  • Mayo or chipotle mayo (optional) For added flavor.
  • Tomato + spinach/arugula (optional) For freshness and nutrients.
  • Avocado slices (optional) For added creaminess.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium. Cook turkey bacon for 2–4 minutes per side until browned and crisp. Transfer to a plate.
  • Split the roll and toast cut-side down in the skillet (or toaster) until golden, about 1–2 minutes.
  • Lower the heat to medium-low. Add butter or oil. Crack in the egg and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook sunny-side for 2–3 minutes or over-easy (flip for 15–30 seconds).
  • Place cheese on the egg for 30–60 seconds. Cover briefly to help the cheese melt faster.
  • Assemble the sandwich: Lay the crispy turkey bacon on the bottom half of the roll, top with the cheesy egg, and finish with the top half of the roll. Add any desired toppings.

Notes

To serve, place the sandwich on a plate and slice in half for easy handling. Pair with fresh fruit or chips for a complete meal. Adjust seasonings and toppings as desired.
