Ingredients
  

Onion Rings

  • 3 large Vidalia onions, sliced into rings Use fresh Vidalia onions for the best flavor.

Cheese and Coating

  • 1 cup Italian cheese blend, shredded Experiment with your favorite cheese blends for different tastes.
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • as needed Olive oil spray

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a bowl, mix together the cheeses, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper.
  • Dip onion rings into the beaten eggs, then coat them in the cheese mixture.
  • Place the coated onion rings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spray lightly with olive oil.

Baking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve warm as a snack or appetizer.

Notes

Tennessee Onions can be served warm, right out of the oven. They pair well with dipping sauces like ranch or marinara. If you have leftovers, let them cool completely and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes to restore crunch.
