Ingredients
  

For the pastry

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 egg egg

For the filling

  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam

For garnish

  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface and cut it into squares.
  • Place a teaspoon of cream cheese and strawberry jam in the center of each square.
  • Fold the corners of the pastry squares to the center, pinching them to seal.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  • Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown.

Serving

  • Let them cool and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Pairs well with coffee or tea. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Reheat in the oven to regain crispiness.
