Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is softened to room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Don’t overmix the dough after adding the flour.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup strawberries, finely chopped Use fresh strawberries for best flavor.
  • 24 pieces chocolate kisses You can substitute with white chocolate kisses for variation.
  • additional as needed powdered sugar for dusting Dust before serving.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the finely chopped strawberries.
  • Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie ball.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Serving

  • Let the cookies cool slightly, then dust them with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

To keep your cookies fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days. They can be frozen for longer storage. Make ahead and refrigerate dough for up to 3 days.
