  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)

Filling ingredients

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure it's softened for easy mixing.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced Use fresh strawberries for best flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into heart shapes.
  • In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Place a dollop of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry heart.
  • Top with sliced strawberries.
  • Fold and pinch the edges to seal.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg.

Baking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for about a week. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to restore flakiness.
