Preparation

  • Prepare the broccoli by washing and trimming it into florets.
  • Set up your steamer by filling a pot with water, ensuring it doesn’t touch the steamer basket, and bring it to a simmer.

Cooking

  • Place the broccoli in the steamer basket and cover it.
  • Steam for about 5 to 7 minutes, until the florets are bright green and tender-crisp.
  • Remove the steamed broccoli from the pot and transfer it to a serving platter.

Serving

  • Season with sea salt, freshly cracked black pepper, drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • Sprinkle with toasted garlic flakes and pine nuts for extra flavor and crunch. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

To store leftover steamed broccoli, place it in an airtight container and refrigerate it for up to 3 to 4 days. To reheat, add a splash of water to create steam and avoid overcooking. For longer storage, freeze cooled broccoli florets for up to 3 months.
