Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh pears, peeled and cut into small cubes Select ripe pears for the best flavor.
  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream Be careful not to overbeat.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Put the pear cubes in a medium saucepan and add enough water to cover them halfway up the pan.
  • Bring to a boil over high heat, then lower to medium-high and cook the pears for 10 minutes.
  • Drain the pears, transfer them to a bowl, and chill for about 30 minutes until cooled.
  • Blend or mash the cooled pears into a smooth purée, leaving a few tiny bits for texture.

Mixing

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and half-and-half until fully combined.
  • In another bowl, beat the heavy cream with a mixer until stiff peaks form, about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes.
  • Gently fold the condensed milk mixture into the whipped cream until smooth.
  • Add the pear purée and fold again until the fruit is spread throughout.

Freezing

  • Transfer the mixture to a freezer-safe container and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Freeze uncovered for 3 to 5 hours, or until firm. For a firmer texture, leave it overnight.

Notes

Serve with warm desserts or garnish with nuts, cinnamon, or caramel sauce for an indulgent touch. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks.
