Taco Ingredients

  • 4 pieces flour tortillas (6 inches) For wrapping the filling
  • 1 pound lean ground beef Choose lean to reduce greasiness
  • Salt and pepper to taste For seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (vegetable, canola, or avocado) For cooking
  • 4 slices American cheese (or preferred cheese) For melting over the beef
  • 1 small onion, diced For topping
  • Dill pickle chips Optional topping
  • Shredded iceberg lettuce Optional topping

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions.
  • Spread one portion of beef over each tortilla, seasoning with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat with oil.
  • Cook each tortilla meat-side down for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  • Flip each taco and add cheese; cook for another 1-3 minutes until cheese is melted.
  • Remove from heat and repeat for remaining tacos.

Assembly

  • Assemble tacos with sauce, lettuce, onions, and pickles.

Notes

For an interactive meal, place toppings on the table for guests to customize their tacos. Leftover tacos can be stored in the fridge, wrapped individually.
