  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz / 414 ml)
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half (120 ml)

Creamy Mixture

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream (360 ml)
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 248 g)

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, whisk the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, peppermint extract, and half-and-half until the mixture is smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream with a hand mixer or stand mixer until stiff peaks form, about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes.
  • Gently fold the condensed milk mixture into the whipped cream until fully combined and smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips so they are spread evenly through the mixture.
  • Transfer the ice cream base to an 8 x 8-inch pan or a similar freezer-safe container, then smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Freeze uncovered for 3 to 5 hours, or leave overnight, until firm.

Notes

Ensure proper storage in an airtight container to prevent freezer burn. For best results, consume within three weeks.
