Quick Strawberry Shortcake

Ingredients
For the cake
- 1 box box of cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
For the toppings
- 2 cups strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup whipped cream for layering and garnish
- Powdered sugar for garnish, optional
Instructions
Preparation
- Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions and bake. Let it cool.
- While the cake is cooling, slice the strawberries and mix them with a little sugar if desired.
Assembly
- Once the cake has cooled, slice it in half horizontally.
- Layer the bottom half with strawberries and whipped cream.
- Place the top half of the cake on, and add more strawberries and whipped cream on top.
- Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve.
