  • 1/4 cup pepperoni slices or other toppings (e.g., bell peppers, mushrooms) Customize with your favorite pizza toppings.
  • Butter to taste Butter (for grilling) Butter creates excellent crispiness; alternatives can be used.

Preparation

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
  • Layer cheese, pizza sauce, and desired toppings on the bread.
  • Top with the second slice of cheese and the other slice of bread, butter side up.

Cooking

  • Cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, then flip carefully and grill the other side until the cheese is melted.
  • Remove from skillet, slice, and serve hot.

Notes
