  • 240 g rolled oats
  • 240 g smooth peanut butter Use natural peanut butter for best flavor.
  • 120 ml honey or maple syrup Maple syrup can be used for a vegan option.

  • Nonstick baking paper For lining the baking pan.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Line a 20cm (8in) square baking pan with nonstick baking paper.
  • Place the rolled oats in a large mixing bowl.
  • In a small saucepan, warm the peanut butter and honey or maple syrup gently over low to medium heat, stirring until the mixture is smooth and fully blended.
  • Pour the warm peanut butter mixture over the oats and mix well until everything is evenly coated.
  • Transfer the mixture to the lined pan and press down very firmly.

Chilling

  • Chill in the freezer for 30 minutes, or in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours until firm.

Serving

  • Slice into 16 bars and serve.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or freeze for longer storage. Optionally, drizzle with melted dark chocolate for added flavor.
