  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper Adjust to taste
  • 3/4 tsp fine sea salt
  • 3/4 cup mild olive oil Use high-quality olive oil
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar For topping
  • 1/4 tsp flaky sea salt For finishing

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and place the rack in the middle.
  • Prepare an 8×8-inch pan by greasing it lightly and lining it with parchment paper.

Mixing

  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, powdered sugar, black pepper, and fine salt.
  • Pour in the olive oil and mix until a soft dough forms.

Baking

  • Transfer the dough into the prepared pan and press down evenly.
  • Sprinkle with granulated sugar, extra black pepper, and flaky salt.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and crisp.
  • Cool completely, lift out using the parchment, and cut into squares or pieces.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer storage, freeze in an airtight bag or container with parchment layers between squares for up to three months.
