Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 pound Ground Pork
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (or gluten-free breadcrumbs)
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Sautéed Mushrooms (chopped) Ensure they are well drained to avoid moisture.
  • 1 cup Swiss Cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup Crispy Bacon (crumbled)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or use a loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, eggs, sautéed mushrooms, Swiss cheese, crumbled bacon, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well until homogeneous.

Cooking

  • Place the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet or into the loaf pan and shape it into a loaf form.
  • Brush the top with a mixture of ketchup and brown sugar if desired.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Notes

For an extra depth of flavor, consider adding fresh herbs like thyme or parsley. Be cautious not to overmix the meat mixture to keep the meatloaf tender.
