Ingredients
  

For the marinade

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For serving

  • Steamed rice for serving
  • Steamed vegetables for serving
  • Sesame seeds or thinly sliced green onions for garnish

Preparation

  • In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, garlic, ginger, honey, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the chicken breasts in a resealable bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the chicken. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight in the refrigerator.

Cooking

  • Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  • Remove chicken from the marinade and grill or bake until cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side for grilling or 20-25 minutes in the oven.

Serving

  • Serve the chicken on a bed of steamed rice with steamed vegetables on the side.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds or thinly sliced green onions as desired.

Notes

For a spicy twist, add gochujang to the marinade. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for longer storage.
