  • 1 pound ground beef Use high-quality ground beef for best flavor.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Essential for authentic taste.
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang Korean chili paste essential for flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced For added depth in flavor.
  • 1 piece egg Helps to bind the meatballs.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Garnishes

  • Sesame seeds For garnish.
  • Green onions, chopped For garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, gochujang, brown sugar, ginger, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  • Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
  • In a small saucepan, combine extra gochujang with a splash of water and heat to create a glaze.
  • Once the meatballs are done, toss them in the glaze before serving.

Serving

  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

These meatballs can be served in various ways: with rice, in a sub, or as skewers at parties. They can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or frozen for up to three months.
