Ingredients
  

For the Apple Layer

  • 4 cups sliced apples Mix of sweet and tart varieties recommended, such as Granny Smith and Honeycrisp.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

For the Crumble Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter Should be cold for best texture.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, and cinnamon. Place them in a greased baking dish.
  • In another bowl, mix together flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt.
  • Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Baking

  • Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the apples evenly.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbly. Serve warm.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, or whipped cream. You can use ramekins for individual servings or garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
