  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup chopped parsley Freshly chopped preferred
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) For added heat
  • 2 cups marinara sauce

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  • Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  • Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  • Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until cooked through.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat marinara sauce over medium heat.
  • Add cooked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh herbs and adjust garlic to preference. Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat thoroughly before serving.
