Preparation

  • Combine soy sauce, honey, lemon juice, and water in a small saucepan.
  • Add ketchup and cooking sherry, whisking to incorporate all ingredients evenly.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and black sesame seeds.
  • Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until it begins to simmer.
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before using as a glaze or dipping sauce.

Notes

Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. For longer storage, freeze in small portions.
