  • 6 pieces chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon oil for cooking
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic

Preparation

  • Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Set aside.

Cooking

  • Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the chicken thighs skin-side down, and cook for 5-7 minutes without moving.
  • Reduce the heat to medium, flip the chicken, and cook for another 7-10 minutes until the juices run clear or the inside reaches 165°F.
  • Remove the chicken to a plate, and leave about 2 tablespoons of the chicken fat in the pan.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook for 30-60 seconds.
  • Add the sauce mixture from earlier and cook until it starts to foam up and thicken.
  • Add the chicken back to the pan and spoon the sauce over the chicken.

Serving

  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the honey-soy mixture for a few hours or overnight. Adjust the sweetness of the dish by modifying the amount of honey used.
