  • 2 cups self-rising flour Ensure good quality for optimal rise.
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar Adds a hint of sweetness.

Wet Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups heavy whipping cream Keep cold for best results.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 500°F (260°C).
  • In a bowl, stir flour and sugar together.
  • Add cream to the flour mixture and mix until a dough forms.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently fold in half.
  • Knead the dough 5–7 times, adding flour if it sticks.
  • Roll the dough to ½-inch thick and cut with a floured 3-inch biscuit cutter.
  • Place the biscuits on a greased/sprayed baking sheet, spacing 1 inch apart.

Baking

  • Bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Serve warm with butter, honey, or jam. These biscuits also pair well with heartier meals like sausage gravy or fried chicken. For dessert, top with berries and cream or serve with vanilla ice cream.
