  • 1 cup cocoa powder Use high-quality cocoa for best flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Omit if using salted butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips High-quality chocolate recommended

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla, and mix until well combined.
  • In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cooling and Serving

  • Let the brownies cool in the pan, then top with sprinkles before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

For an enhanced flavor, you can top with caramel or serve with vanilla ice cream. They can also be stored in an airtight container to keep them fresh for up to a week at room temperature.
