  • 2 cups egg noodles or potatoes Choose between egg noodles or sliced potatoes.
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup Can replace with another cream soup if desired.
  • 1 cup milk Use whole or skim milk depending on preference.
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella) Cheddar or mozzarella can be used.
  • 1 onion chopped Adds flavor and sweetness.
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • to taste garlic powder, Italian seasoning Optional ingredients to enhance flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the beef is cooked through; drain excess fat.

Sauce Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and seasonings.

Layering and Baking

  • In a greased casserole dish, layer the cooked beef mixture, followed by the noodles or potatoes, and then pour the soup mixture on top.
  • Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the top.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

To enhance flavor, consider adding crushed crackers or breadcrumbs on top of the cheese before baking. This dish also offers great versatility for customization based on your taste preferences.
