Ingredients
  

For the Marinade

  • 1 cup plain yogurt Use full-fat yogurt for best results.
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice Freshly squeezed is preferred.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons tandoori masala Adjust for spice preference.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

For Grilling

  • 4 pieces chicken thighs or breasts Bone-in and skin-on preferred.
  • to taste none fresh cilantro For garnish.

Preparation

  • Combine yogurt, lemon juice, vegetable oil, tandoori masala, garlic powder, ginger powder, salt, cumin, and paprika in a bowl. Mix well.
  • Add chicken and thoroughly coat with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

Grilling

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • Remove chicken from marinade and shake off excess.
  • Grill chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side, until fully cooked and charred.
  • Remove from grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

For a smokier flavor, adding a touch of liquid smoke to the marinade works great. Adjust marinating time based on your schedule for flavor intensity.
