Grilled Salmon with Garlic Herb Butter

Main Ingredients

  • 4 fillets Salmon fillets (skin-on) 6 oz each
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Black pepper
  • 1 whole Lemon for zest and wedges

Garlic Herb Butter

  • ½ cup Unsalted butter 1 stick
  • 3 cloves Fresh garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Fresh dill or thyme
  • ½ tsp Lemon zest
  • pinch Salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic, parsley, dill, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt. Set aside or refrigerate for later.

Seasoning

  • Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub with olive oil and season both sides with salt and pepper.

Grilling

  • Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high (400-450°F). Oil the grates to prevent sticking.
  • Place salmon skin-side down and grill for 4-5 minutes. Flip carefully and grill another 2-3 minutes until salmon flakes easily. Internal temperature should reach 125°F-130°F for medium doneness.

Serving

  • Transfer salmon to plates. Immediately top each fillet with a generous dollop of garlic herb butter. Let it melt into the warm salmon. Serve with lemon wedges and your favorite sides.

Notes

This dish is perfect during grilling season or anytime using a grill pan. Make the garlic herb butter up to 3 days in advance and store in the fridge.
