Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Glaze

  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, egg, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until just combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix ketchup and brown sugar; spread this glaze over the top of the meatloaf.

Baking

  • Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For an authentic experience, pair with creamy mashed potatoes, buttery corn, or a crisp green salad. The meal can also be served in sandwiches for leftovers.
