Ingredients
  

For the Meatloaf

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup dried bread crumbs
  • 1 piece onion (chopped)
  • to taste salt and pepper

For the Glaze

  • 0.33 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, milk, bread crumbs, and beaten egg. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Mix all ingredients until well combined and shape into a loaf, placing it snugly into the greased pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and prepared mustard until fully combined.
  • Pour the glaze over the meatloaf, spreading it evenly on the surface.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately one hour or until the center is cooked through and no longer pink.
  • Allow the meatloaf to rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Let the meatloaf cool to room temperature before storing. Wrap individual slices tightly in plastic wrap or foil, or store in an airtight container. Can be frozen for up to three months.
