Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated

Spices

  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • to taste salt
  • to garnish fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions
 

Cooking

  • Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
  • Stir in the garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute.
  • Add the cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, and garam masala; cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Pour in the crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt.
  • Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

For added creaminess, drizzle extra heavy cream before serving. Adjust the spice levels to taste for a milder or spicier sauce. This sauce pairs well with grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, chickpeas, or paneer.
