  • 1 cup sago/small tapioca pearls
  • 6 cups water For boiling sago
  • 1.5 pieces ripe mangoes Use one for blending and one for topping
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk See notes for alternatives
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • coconut flakes Optional for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the sago. Cook over medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Turn off heat and cover with a lid. Leave for another 10 minutes. Drain the sago after 10 minutes and rinse with water until cool to touch, then transfer to a container.
  • While the sago is cooking, cut 1 mango and transfer to a blender. Add coconut milk and condensed milk, then blend until smooth.
  • Transfer the mango mixture into the container with the sago and mix well. Optionally chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Assembly

  • Pour the mango sago into serving containers.
  • Optionally, pour a layer of coconut milk on top and add diced mangoes with coconut flakes as garnish.

Notes

For best results, use ripe mangoes, adjust the sweetness according to your taste, and serve chilled for a delightful dessert experience. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
