Ingredients
  

Apple Mixture

  • 4 cups sliced apples Tart varieties like Granny Smith are recommended.
  • 1 cup sugar Divided into two portions.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Can adjust to taste.

Cobbler Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples, 1/2 cup of sugar, and cinnamon. Spread this mixture in the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

Making the Topping

  • In another bowl, whisk together the remaining sugar, flour, milk, melted butter, baking powder, and salt until smooth.
  • Pour this batter over the apples in the baking dish.

Baking

  • Bake for about 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Can drizzle with caramel sauce or sprinkle with nuts for added texture and sweetness. Store leftover cobbler covered at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
