Ingredients
  

For the apple filling

  • 6 medium fresh apples, peeled and sliced Use Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best results.
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

For the topping

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar Granulated sugar.
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt A pinch of salt.
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Peel and slice the apples, then toss them with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  • Stir in melted butter, milk, and vanilla until well combined.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and spread the apple mixture on top.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.

Serving

  • Serve warm, optionally with ice cream.
