Ingredients

Ice Cream Base

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk 14 oz / 414 ml
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half 120 ml
  • 1/2 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips 248 g

Cream Mixture

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream 360 ml

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and half-and-half until smooth.
  • Add the dark cocoa powder and mix well until fully blended and no dry spots remain.
  • Stir in the dark chocolate chips so they are evenly spread throughout the mixture.

Whipping Cream

  • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with a hand mixer or stand mixer until stiff peaks form, about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes.
  • Gently fold the chocolate mixture into the whipped cream until you have a smooth, even ice cream base.

Freezing

  • Spoon or pour the mixture into ice cream bar molds, then insert the wooden sticks.
  • Freeze uncovered for 3 to 5 hours, or until fully firm. For best results, leave them overnight.

Serving

  • Remove the bars from the molds and serve immediately.
  • Keep leftovers in a covered freezer-safe container for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

Carefully manage the folding of the mixtures for a light, airy texture. Add more chocolate chips or crushed cookies for added crunch. High-quality dark chocolate chips enhance the flavor.
