Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire-style sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • Place the steak pieces evenly in the bottom of your crockpot.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire-style sauce, brown sugar, and black pepper until well combined.
  • Pour this mixture over the steak. Add the minced garlic and butter on top.
  • Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, checking occasionally.
  • In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water until smooth.
  • Stir the cornstarch mixture into the crockpot, cover, and cook for an additional 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Serve warm, ensuring each steak bite is coated in sauce.

Notes

For best results, cut the sirloin into evenly sized pieces and consider marinating the steak in the soy sauce mixture for a few hours before cooking. You can adjust the recipe by using different cuts of meat or adding vegetables directly to the crockpot.
