Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds tender steak Cuts like chuck or round work best.
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced into bite-sized pieces Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes are recommended.
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste Ensure to season adequately.

Preparation

  • Place the diced potatoes, chopped onion, and minced garlic in the bottom of the crockpot.
  • Season the steak generously with salt and pepper, then place it on top of the vegetables.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the beef broth, soy sauce, and thyme. Pour this mixture evenly over the steak and veggies.

Cooking

  • Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours until the steak is tender and the potatoes are cooked through.

Serving

  • Serve warm, possibly accompanied by a simple green salad or some crusty bread.

Notes

For thicker gravy, mix in a cornstarch slurry towards the end of the cooking time and allow it to simmer.
