For the Chicken

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil for frying
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter for sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour for thickening sauce
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese for sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
  • Prepare three shallow dishes: one with flour seasoned with salt and pepper, one with whisked eggs and water, and one with Panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, and Italian seasoning.
  • Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in the egg mixture, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).

Sauce Preparation

  • While the chicken is baking, melt butter in a separate saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for about a minute.
  • Stir in 2 tablespoons of flour and cook for another minute.
  • Gradually whisk in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring continuously until thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in additional grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  • Serve the chicken topped with the garlic cream sauce and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

Notes

To enhance flavor, consider double-dipping the chicken in the egg batter for a thicker coating. Adding a splash of white wine to the sauce can elevate its flavor further.
