Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 1/2 package cream cheese, softened 8-ounce package
  • 1 unit scallion, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • pinch sea salt

Wontons

  • 12 pieces wonton wrappers
  • for frying Vegetable or canola oil

Serving Suggestions

  • Plum sauce and/or sweet-and-sour sauce for serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, scallion, lemon pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and sea salt until smooth.
  • Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  • Lightly moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and press firmly to seal.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry the wontons in batches, turning as needed, until golden brown on all sides, about 5 minutes.
  • Transfer to a wire rack or paper towels to drain briefly.
  • Serve warm with plum sauce, sweet-and-sour sauce, or both.

Notes

Do not overfill the wrappers to prevent bursting. Keep unused wrappers covered to prevent drying out. Fry in small batches for even browning.
