  • 3 tablespoons olive oil Coat completely to achieve crispiness.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For depth of flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Freshly cracked for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Add halfway through roasting.
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice Optional, for brightness.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius) and position a rack in the middle.
  • Place the broccoli florets on a large, rimmed baking sheet without overcrowding.
  • Drizzle the olive oil over the broccoli and toss until evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper over the broccoli and toss again to distribute evenly.
  • Spread the broccoli in a single layer on the baking sheet.

Cooking

  • Roast the broccoli for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the broccoli.
  • Return the pan to the oven and roast for another 5 to 8 minutes, until edges are golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove from the oven and drizzle with lemon juice immediately if using. Serve hot.

Notes

For best results, use fresh broccoli and avoid overcrowding the baking sheet. Feel free to infuse olive oil with garlic for extra flavor.
