  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Creamy Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook the seasoned chicken until golden brown on both sides. Remove the chicken and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  • In the same skillet, melt the butter and whisk in the flour to create a roux.
  • Slowly pour in the milk and chicken broth, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
  • Add garlic powder, thyme, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted.

Simmer and Serve

  • Return the chicken to the skillet and let it simmer in the creamy sauce until heated through.
  • Serve the creamy chicken over cooked rice and garnish with parsley.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate the chicken in spices for a few hours. You can incorporate vegetables like spinach or bell peppers and adjust the cheese types for variety.
