Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 1 can 14 oz / 414 ml sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup Kahlua (or 1 tablespoon Kahlua flavoring) Use real Kahlua for a richer flavor.
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, Kahlua flavoring, and half-and-half until the mixture is completely smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream with a hand mixer or stand mixer until stiff peaks form, about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes.
  • Gently fold the condensed milk mixture into the whipped cream until fully combined and smooth.
  • Transfer the mixture to an 8 x 8-inch pan or a similar freezer-safe container, then spread it out evenly with a spatula.
  • Freeze uncovered for 3 to 5 hours or overnight until the ice cream is firm.

Notes

For a mudslide-style variation, use 1/2 tablespoon Kahlua flavoring and 1/2 tablespoon Irish cream flavoring. Swirl in fudge or chocolate sauce before freezing.
