  • ¼ cup sour cream (or mayonnaise) Sour cream is preferred for a tangy flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons dill (finely chopped) Fresh dill preferred for flavor.

Sandwich Assembly

  • ½ English cucumber (thinly sliced) Choose firm cucumbers for crispness.
  • 8 slices sandwich bread White or whole grain, crusts removed.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Mix the cream cheese, sour cream (or mayo), chopped dill, and a pinch of kosher salt in a bowl until smooth.
  • Spread the mixture over one side of each slice of bread using a small spatula.
  • Layer thin slices of cucumber on half of the bread slices, slightly overlapping them.
  • Top with the other slices of bread, spread side down, and gently press to close the sandwiches.
  • Trim off the crusts and cut each sandwich into four bite-sized pieces.

Serving

  • Arrange sandwiches on a serving platter, garnishing with extra dill or cucumber slices if desired.

Notes
