Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar for topping
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon for topping

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, mix the sugars, melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • In a small bowl, combine the topping sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the batter.

Baking

  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For best texture, do not overmix the batter. Consider using fresh ground cinnamon for enhanced flavor. For added richness, a tablespoon or two of sour cream can be included in the batter.
