Ingredients
  

For the Candied Oranges

  • 6 pieces oranges Select sweet, juicy oranges with vibrant skin.
  • 1 2/3 cups water Approximately 400ml.
  • 3 cups sugar 600 grams.
  • Spices (cinnamon, cloves, star anise) Adjust spices to taste.

For Dipping

  • Your preferred chocolate Choose dark, milk, or white chocolate.

Preparation and Candying

  • Wash and slice the oranges into rounds about 0.3 inches wide.
  • Optional: Place them in boiling water for 5-10 minutes to reduce bitterness of the peel.
  • In a pot, combine sugar, spices, and water, then add the orange slices.
  • Cook for about 1.5 hours, allowing the oranges to absorb flavors.
  • Drain the water and place the oranges on paper towels to dry.
  • Arrange the oranges on a baking sheet and bake at 212°F (100°C) for about 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Let the candied oranges cool.

Dipping in Chocolate

  • Melt your preferred chocolate.
  • Dip each slice into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off.
  • Place on parchment paper to set.

Notes

Store in an airtight container separated by parchment paper to prevent sticking. Can be enjoyed as a standalone treat or as a garnish for desserts.
