  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Use milk or dark chocolate based on preference.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4x8-inch loaf pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth but slightly textured.
  • Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  • Mix in baking soda and salt.
  • Stir in sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  • Once combined, mix in flour and chocolate chips gently.
  • Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with a pat of butter. Can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container for up to three days.
