Wet Ingredients

  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed The riper, the better for sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar Regular granulated sugar.
  • 1 piece egg, beaten Helps bind ingredients.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder

Add-ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use dark chocolate or semi-sweet as preferred.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, mix the mashed bananas with melted butter.
  • Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla.
  • Mix in the baking soda and salt, then add the flour and cocoa powder.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

Baking

  • Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream for an indulgent treat. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for freshness.
