  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cherry preserves You can use any fruit jam or preserve that you like.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Use your thumb to create a small indent in the center of each cookie.
  • Fill each indent with cherry preserves.

Baking

  • Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, decorate with red and pink sprinkles if desired.
