Ingredients
  

Meatball Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef or turkey You can use any ground meat you prefer, like chicken or pork.
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper

Sub Assembly Ingredients

  • 1 cup Marinara sauce You can substitute with any preferred sauce like Alfredo or pesto.
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese.
  • 4 pieces Hoagie rolls
  • to taste Fresh basil (optional) For garnish and extra flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shape the mixture into meatballs.

Cooking

  • Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
  • In a pan, heat marinara sauce and add the cooked meatballs.

Assembly

  • Cut the hoagie rolls and place the meatballs inside, adding marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Place the subs back into the oven for a few minutes until the cheese melts.

Serving

  • Serve warm, garnished with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding some chopped onions or bell peppers to the meat mixture, or include red pepper flakes for a spicy kick. To store leftovers, let them cool completely before placing in an airtight container. They can last in the fridge for up to three days.
