Ingredients
  

For the sandwich

  • 1 pound ribeye steak
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 pieces sandwich rolls

Vegetables

  • 1 piece onion, sliced
  • 1 piece bell pepper, sliced

Cooking essentials

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Season the ribeye steak with salt and pepper and cook it in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  • Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly.

Cooking vegetables and sandwich assembly

  • In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and bell peppers, and sauté until they are soft and caramelized.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Split the sandwich rolls and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Layer the sliced steak, sautéed onions, peppers, and provolone cheese on the rolls.
  • Bake in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Optional: spread mayonnaise or garlic aioli on the rolls before serving.

Notes

Serve hot and fresh from the oven. Pair with fries or a salad for a complete meal. For an extra kick, add hot sauce or your favorite condiment. Store leftovers separately for up to 3 days in the fridge.
