Ingredients
  

For the meat mixture

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

For the biscuit topping

  • 2 cups Bisquick mix
  • ¾ cup whole milk

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet set over medium heat, sauté the chopped onions and minced garlic until fragrant and translucent.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned.
  • Stir in the frozen mixed vegetables, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook until everything is heated through.
  • Pour in the low-sodium beef broth and let it simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the Bisquick mix with the whole milk until it forms a thick batter.
  • Transfer the meat mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Spoon the biscuit batter over the top of the meat mixture.

Baking

  • Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes or until the biscuit topping is golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

To serve, consider pairing this dish with a side salad or steamed vegetables. Have extra cheese or sour cream on the side for added richness.
