  • 1 medium bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onion and bell pepper, and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Add the ground chicken and cook until browned.
  • Stir in the Cajun seasoning, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Simmer for about 10 minutes until heated through.
  • Serve the mixture on hamburger buns and add your favorite toppings.

Notes

To store leftovers, let the chicken mixture cool completely. Place it in an airtight container and keep it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze the mixture for up to 2 months. To serve, reheat it on the stovetop or in the microwave. For extra spice, add hot sauce to the mix. Use different types of ground meat, or make it vegetarian by swapping the chicken for a plant-based protein.
